Introduction and Course Description
Managing multidisciplinary staff and coordinating field, laboratory, and computer analysis places unique demands on project managers for environmental and engineering projects . Despite meeting schedule and budget, you might often have felt pressure to get more from yourself and your team, and that you could have been more successful in developing client relationships to achieve better profit margins. But where can you turn for help in today's competitive market place?
We can help! We have designed a specific training course for environmental and engineering project managers that will enable you to learn - and practice - new project management skills designed to empower you and your team with a positive synergy and financial success & every time!
You'll gain a clear understanding of why the art of effective delegation is so important for project outcomes and team culture. You will learn the difference between simply assigning a task and providing a context of the work in the overall project strategy, providing the necessary material so that that the delegee can complete the task, and guidance as to what is expected and how it is to be presented and acheive the project objective - in the first attempt! And you'll discover how your individual leadership style and personality can influence the project outcome and ultimately, the profit margin.
This two-day course will improve your three-dimensional project management skills. The course covers how to:
Understand Yourself and Others:
Learn and practice meaningful communication,
motivation, delegation, and negotiation
Understand how you, your team and your approach create positive or negative synergy
Recognize how you can manage your greatest unknown variable people the asset that has the
most potential for problems and solutions
Differentiate yourself by gaining a new perspective on need-based project management
Learn what it means to lead through experience, inspiration, or communication
Enhance Team Communication
Build a culture that nurtures success and builds client relationships
Develop teams that achieve technical and financial success, every time

Improve Your Project Performance
Implement practical and powerful field and project management tools that make achieving
the project s scope, schedule, and budget easy
Differentiate risk from the perspective of the project manager vs. the company
Design projects that are cognizant of your client s corporate culture
Succeed by achieving new levels of personal, technical, and financial results
Today's environmental and engineering projects present unique challenges to the project manager, requiring coordination with many stakeholders and integration of various technological capabilities. In this course, you'll discover critical success factors and hidden risks inherent in all field-related projects and you'll gain an understanding of strategies and techniques developed by experienced field and project managers for successfully managing environmental and engineering projects.
