Instructors Bio

Scott Weislow

I am a senior Sustainability, Compliance and EHS Executive with a history of leading efforts that improve enterprise reputation, build positive external and internal engagement at all levels, and generate positive financial impact. With over twenty-five years of experience in driving change and value creation, I've got some proven successes in a variety of industries, primarily in retail, power equipment manufacturing, construction, and the environmental consulting field. I am currently employed by a Fortune 100 retailer as an executive leader of environmental services, leading the world's largest electronics/e-waste recycling program.

In my current role, I oversee my employer's industry leading recycling and waste management efforts, which include the collection and recycling of consumer electronics, appliances, ancillary products such as rechargeable batteries, as well as packaging waste including cardboard, plastic wrap, and Styrofoam. My team is committed to continuous process improvement and to drive innovation within the recycling program such that this program and our employer remain a leader in the responsible recycling of electronic waste.

Prior to taking my current role in the retail industry in January 2012, I spent 21 years as an environmental and regulatory compliance professional working in a variety of positions within the environmental consulting field, the construction and waste management industry, and most recently the power equipment manufacturing industry. During that timeframe, I held numerous global and local leadership roles in the areas of product regulatory compliance, environmental health and safety, industrial hygiene, waste management, product liability and safety, and business management. I developed, implemented and managed global product regulatory compliance programs for two large power equipment manufacturers, ensuring that all products met legal requirements in the global markets these manufacturers served. During these tenures, I also served on various boards and committees with the National Association of Manufacturers, the Outdoor Power Equipment Institute, the European Garden Machinery Federation, and in my current role I work with the Consumer Electronics Association and other industry related organizations, as well as several non-governmental organizations.
