FIELD GUIDE FOR SOIL AND STRATIGRAPHIC ANALYSIS
By Midwest GeoSciences Group

"Help yourself to think on your feet in the field"
  • Improve the accuracy of your boring logs
  • Enhance your soil and sediment descriptions
  • Prepare consistent descriptions and meaningful boring logs
  • Accurately classify soil in the field using the USCS
  • Analyze sedimentary data as the drilling program progresses
  • Characterize stratigraphic successions in the field
  • Build the geologic framework from boring to boring
  • Reduce editing time

Make accurate and consistent soil descriptions on your boring logs. Help yourself to think on your feet and improve your observations and sedimentary analysis applied to both environmental and engineering projects.

Soil descriptions have never been easier when you use the field guide's flow chart listing key descriptive elements for characterizing sedimentary sequences on boring logs. Common terms from geologic, engineering, and soil science disciplines are used on the Field Guide to help prepare meaningful boring logs that are clear and concise. The back side of the Field Guide includes a easy-to-use flow chart that takes the mystery out of using the Unified Soil Classification System and assigning a group name and USCS symbol in the field.

Testimonials:

"I am a hydrogeologist, and I am currently doing exploration and development in northwestern Argentina. The field guides are beautifully made and will help me a lot in my work. Thanks again. Best wishes!"
- PENG WEI, Hydrogeologist, Liex S.A. Argentina
The Midwest GeoSciences Group's "Field Guide for Soil and Stratigraphic Analysis" is hands down the premium tool for logging and characterizing field samples using the USCS. I recently moved and had to resort to using a different logging guide for my drilling program. I learned quickly that the guides don't compare. The Midwest GeoSciences "Field Guide for Soil and Stratigraphic Analysis" is the most intuitive, descriptive, and complete guide out there. I will never log again without it!
- Brent Everett, PG, Senior Hydrogeologist

I just received our shipment (of field guides) from you this afternoon. I really like your field guides and find they help our staff understand the USCS in the field. They will go to good use! We are also going to be looking into more of your webinars in the near future. We have watched several of them over the years and find them to be valuable.
- Daniel R. Moir, P.G. Senior Geologist / Group Manager, LT Environmental, Inc.

We have equipped each of our geologists with a Field Guide for Soil and Stratigraphic Analysis. Our boring logs have become much more accurate and consistent. Senior review time has been greatly reduced.
- Lee Dooley, Senior Geologist
